Kathleen “Kat” Berner is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative journey spans a lifetime of exploration in painting, fiber arts, costume design, woodworking, and mixed-media sculpture. Through her studio, Bloom Creative Arts, Kat brings together natural materials and imaginative storytelling to create pieces that celebrate texture, movement, and the beauty of the handmade.
For the Wood & Stone Exhibit at Fenceline Cidery, Kat presents a collection of works that thoughtfully combine wood and stone, highlighting the organic relationship between these timeless elements. Inspired by the landscapes of Southwest Colorado, her pieces invite viewers to appreciate the character, balance, and quiet strength found in nature.
A lifelong maker, Kat’s artistic practice has included sewing, upcycled garment design, masks and headdresses, macramé, painting, and collaborative community art projects. She enjoys creating work that reflects individuality and connection, and she welcomes opportunities for commissions and creative partnerships.
Through every medium she explores, Kat’s work expresses a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, imagination, and the stories that natural materials can tell.
