Heather Lea Harvey

Heather Lea Harvey is a mixed-media artist who has called Cortez home for six years. She earned a B.F.A. in Studio Art from Plymouth State College but quickly discovered she was far too messy for graphic design. Painting became her passion.

Heather draws inspiration from the landscapes of the Southwest and from the joy she finds in everyday life. She jokes that she failed kindergarten twice for wasting paste and coloring outside the lines. She simply loved playing with paint. She still does.

When she isn't creating, Heather treasures time with her husband Mike, her sons Ian and Zeb, their partners Aly and Maddie, and her grandchildren Charlotte and Maya. She also enjoys a good book...and yes, a box of wine.
